The Online Touchscreen Tester is an advanced web diagnostic suite built to evaluate touch digitizers across smartphones, tablets, 2-in-1 laptops, and interactive kiosk displays. Leveraging standard Pointer Events API and Touch Events API, it delivers microsecond latency tracking for multi-finger input validation.
Core Testing Modes:
- Dead Zone Grid Matrix: divides your display into an interactive grid overlay. As you drag your finger across the display, cells light up in a vibrant green gradient. Unfilled cells point directly to broken digitizer traces or inactive touchscreen regions.
- Trajectory & Freehand Line Drawing: measures touch accuracy and continuous contact tracing for styluses (Apple Pencil, Surface Pen, S-Pen) and fingers. Identifies line stutter, jittering, or digitizer controller signal drops.
- Multi-Touch Pointer Locator: tracks hardware multi-touch limits (2, 5, 10, or up to 20 contact points simultaneously) with real-time X/Y coordinates, touch radius, and pressure visualization.
- Fullscreen Edge-to-Edge Testing: expands the canvas to 100% screen size to test critical border areas, screen corners, and navigation gesture bars without browser UI interference.
Common Touchscreen Failures Explained:
- Ghost Touches (Erratic Clicks): involuntary touch events triggered without user contact. Caused by electromagnetic interference, faulty chargers, battery swelling pressing against the digitizer, or static build-up.
- Linear Dead Bands: full vertical or horizontal screen bands that fail to register touches due to torn flex cables or ribbon connector degradation.
