Online Keyboard Tester
Test your keyboard functionality and ensure every key responds properly
Online Keyboard Test — Complete Key Diagnostics in Browser
The online keyboard tester allows you to check physical keys on laptop keyboards, desktop keyboards, mechanical switches, and membrane devices without installing software.
When to Test Your Keyboard
- After liquid spills: to identify shorted membranes or damaged conductive traces.
- When buying a used laptop: ensure there are no dead keys or unresponsive switches.
- To check Ghosting & N-Key Rollover: evaluate how many simultaneous keypresses your keyboard can register during gaming.
- Suspected key sticking: when characters keep repeating after releasing a key.
What the Tool Displays
On the virtual layout, pressed keys immediately highlight in green and remain active until reset. The tool also displays exact system key codes (e.code / e.key), total tested key count, and the last activated key name.
Technical Limitations
Certain system shortcuts (such as Ctrl+Alt+Del, OS Win/Cmd keys, workspace switches, or hardware Fn function keys for volume and brightness) are intercepted by the operating system before reaching the browser. This is standard OS security behavior.
