What the Service Includes
The service includes diagnostics of the DC-in jack (continuity/short check, oxidation, mechanical damage), full or partial laptop disassembly for motherboard access, desoldering of the old jack (hot air or temperature-controlled soldering iron), pad cleaning from solder residue and oxidation with isopropyl alcohol, selection of a compatible replacement jack (3.0×1.0, 4.5×3.0 center-pin, 5.5×2.5, 7.4×5.0 etc.), professional soldering with flux and quality solder, short-circuit verification, load testing (battery charging, mains operation, voltage stability), and monitoring of jack/cable heating. If board traces or power controller are damaged — additional repair is performed. Frequently combined with laptop repair or liquid damage cleaning.
When the Service is Needed
DC jack replacement is required for intermittent charging (plug wiggling needed), complete lack of mains power, laptop running only on battery, slow or interrupted charging, loose/wobbly/falling-out plug, sparking or heating at the port during charging, burning plastic smell, or crackling. - Testing: Multi-hour charging under load (with connected laptop), voltage stability check, no-heating verification, repeated plug insertion/removal testing.
