What the Service Includes
The service includes diagnostics of the old keyboard (key response, backlight, ribbon, liquid traces), selection of a compatible replacement (exact part number, backlight presence, layout, rivet type), careful rivet removal (cutting or drilling aluminum/plastic rivets without top case damage), old keyboard extraction, cleaning of the mounting area from adhesive residue, dust, or liquid, new keyboard installation, ribbon reconnection without bending, securing with new rivets/screws/adhesive (model-dependent), backlight and key testing, tactile feel verification, and mounting stability check. Frequently combined with laptop repair or software installation for driver and backlight calibration.
When the Service is Needed
Replacement with rivet removal is required for complete or partial keyboard failure after liquid spills, many stuck/unresponsive keys, membrane or ribbon damage, heavy wear (faded legends, cracked keys), backlight issues, or mechanical damage (cracks around keys in top case). This method is used exclusively for laptops with top-riveted keyboards (MacBook Pro/Air 2015–2019, select Dell XPS 13/15, HP Spectre x360, older Lenovo Yoga, etc.).
