What the Service Includes
The valve replacement service covers targeted or full replacement of one or more valves with thorough inspection of adjacent components:
- diagnostics of drain, steam, and crema / OPV valve operation
- pressure measurement in the system and at the group head
- disassembly to access the required valves
- replacement of drain / dump valve
- replacement of steam valve (steam solenoid)
- replacement of crema valve / OPV (9–11–19 bar depending on model)
- replacement of seals, gaskets, springs included in the valve kit
- flushing and purging of affected lines
- leak testing after new valve installation
- pressure calibration (for OPV / crema valve)
- multiple test runs without coffee and with coffee
- verification of crema quality, pressure stability, no leaks
Service is available for De’Longhi, Saeco, Philips, Jura, Krups, Siemens, Bosch, Gaggia, Rancilio Silvia, Lelit, ECM, Rocket, and many other brands.
When Valve Replacement Is Needed
Signs indicating failure of one or more valves:
- constant water leakage from the bottom after brewing
- pressure in the group does not hold — coffee pours too fast, almost no crema
- excessive pressure — jet-like flow, very firm puck, bitterness
- insufficient pressure — watery coffee, poor crema
- steam output is very weak or absent
- continuous water dumping into the drip tray even when idle
- characteristic hissing or “pssh” sound from the drip tray
- adjusting the crema valve has no effect on pressure
- cleaning and flushing do not resolve the issue
- errors related to pressure or leakage
- visible rust, limescale buildup, or deformation inside the valve
Valve failures are most often caused by hard water, infrequent descaling, spring fatigue, or accumulation of coffee fines and scale inside the valve.
Work Stages
- Diagnostics — checking pressure in group, steam circuit, drain path
- Measurement of actual pump and OPV pressure
- Removal of panels to access valves
- Inspection and photo documentation of old valves
- Replacement of drain / dump valve
- Replacement of steam valve
- Replacement of crema / OPV valve followed by pressure calibration
- Replacement of all related seals and gaskets
- Flushing of the affected circuit
- Reassembly and leak testing
- Test flushing without coffee (10–15 cycles)
- Brewing several espresso shots to verify performance
- Final check of steam and drain functions
- Cleaning external surfaces after repair
