What the Service Includes
The repair covers disassembly of the adapter case, inspection of key sections (input filter, rectifier bridge, PFC if present, primary/secondary converters, PWM controller, output rails 19–20 V, standby circuit), replacement of faulty parts, and comprehensive verification. We replace swollen capacitors with low-ESR equivalents, power MOSFETs, Schottky diodes, PWM ICs, optocouplers, fuses, and varistors. Checks inductors, transformers, protection circuits. When the Service is Needed
Adapter repair is required when charging fails completely, becomes intermittent (plug wiggling needed), the laptop runs only on battery, charging is slow or cuts out, the adapter overheats, emits high-pitched whine, burning smell, or crackling, or the unit blows its internal fuse. Causes include capacitor aging (3–7 years), power surges, dust buildup, overload, or cable damage. If multimeter shows unstable or absent output voltage — repair is usually more cost-effective than replacement.
