What the Service Includes
The service covers full chassis disassembly (bottom cover removal, battery disconnect, fans/heatsinks/heat pipes removal), mechanical dust removal from fan blades, heatsinks, heat pipes, and air channels using compressed air and specialized brushes, cleaning of CPU/GPU die and lid from old paste with isopropyl alcohol, application of fresh thermal paste in an even layer, replacement of thermal pads on chipset, VRM, VRAM (if needed), fan bearing lubrication (for dry whining), heat pipe leak check, reassembly with all cable and screw verification, and extended load testing (AIDA64, Prime95, FurMark) with HWiNFO temperature monitoring. Often combined with laptop repair or software installation for cooling profile optimization.
When the Service is Needed
Cleaning and paste replacement are necessary when the laptop runs hot even in light tasks (CPU temperatures above 85–90 °C), fans run at full speed constantly, performance throttles, random restarts/shutdowns occur due to heat, fans produce dry whining, or slowdown appears in games/programs that previously ran smoothly. Symptoms typically emerge after 1.5–3 years of regular use, especially on soft surfaces, in dusty environments, or during gaming/rendering. In Khmelnytskyi we recommend cleaning and paste replacement every 1–2 years for gaming and work laptops to prevent overheating and extend processor, graphics, and motherboard life.
Work Stages
- Diagnostics: Current temperature check in idle and load (HWiNFO, AIDA64), vent inspection, fan noise evaluation, overheating signs assessment.
- Disassembly: Bottom cover removal, battery disconnect, fan/heatsink/heat pipe removal (with reassembly order noted).
- Cooling system cleaning: Dust removal with compressed air, brushes, and tools from fan blades, heatsinks, heat pipes, air channels, and vent grilles.
- Thermal paste replacement: Old paste removal with isopropyl alcohol and lint-free wipes from CPU/GPU die and lid, new paste application in thin uniform layer (pea or cross method).
- Thermal pad replacement (if needed): Assessment and replacement of soft pads on chipset, VRM, VRAM with correct thickness and conductivity.
- Reassembly & testing: Component reinstallation, battery reconnection, cable/screw check, extended load testing with temperature, noise, and stability monitoring.
